Maximize energy savings with lighting - there's more!
Under this motto, the second energylight day will take place in Bern on September 3, 2024 on the initiative of the Swiss Lighting Society and its partners.
On energylight day, experts from the lighting industry will show you how the targeted use of sensor technology and the networking of luminaires can save three times as much energy costs as a pure switch to LED technology.
In addition, strategies will be presented on how the intelligent use of daylight - ideally in combination with sensor technology - can save considerable amounts of electricity in artificial lighting.
Another important topic is upcycling instead of throwing away, as it indirectly contributes to energy savings. We will show you how materials can be reused and how existing lighting systems can be brought up to the latest state of the art.

Peter Schwägli
Geschäftsführer Smart City & Licht, ELEKTRON AGPeter Schwägli will be giving a presentation on "Sustainability: best practice by Elektron ♻ Circular economy for outdoor luminaires" at energylight day.
"Circular economy focuses on maximizing what is already in use," says Peter and talks in his presentation about how the lighting industry can make its contribution to net zero 2050 with circular luminaires.
Peter Schwägli is Managing Director of Smart City and Light at ELEKTRON AG and is actively involved in specialist group 52 of the Swiss Lighting Society (SLG). The specialist group deals with the correct illumination of tunnels so that the safety of road users is not compromised.

About energylight
energylight is an initiative of the Schweizer Licht Gesellschaft and its partners with the aim of halving electricity consumption for lighting through the right combination of LEDs, sensor technology and daylight, thereby saving 3500 GWh/a. This consumption corresponds to the annual electricity consumption of more than 1 million households. This initiative was also set out in the "Davos Light Agreement" with various contractual partners in 2018.
