3D printing of cooling elements

Continuous advancements in additive manufacturing of metal objects are opening up new possibilities. The importance of 3D printing is increasing for various sectors of the metalworking industry: microcoolers for transistors and diode lasers are already being mass-produced using additive manufacturing.

The manufacturing process offers maximum individuality, as no molds or tools are required. As a result, small, highly efficient cooling structures can be produced on a micro scale. Almost all materials can be processed or applied as an alloy. The process enables miniature molds with extraordinarily thin cooling plates, making it ideal for the economical use of multilayer PCBs in industry.
