An end to broken coin-operated machines in communal laundry rooms

An apartment building with ten apartments, two communal laundry rooms and one problem: The coin-operated devices in the laundry rooms were broken into time and again, requiring a lot of effort each time. Therefore, the owners were looking for a system to replace the coin-operated machines with a modern system, reduce their administrative burden, and at the same time make it more convenient for the tenants to use. In Vesta, they found the ideal replacement for the existing coin machine.

In conversation with Daniel Ambauen, property management

Mr. Ambauen, why did you decide to switch from a coin-operated machine to Vesta?

After all four coin-operated machines in the laundry room were broken into twice within twelve months, it was clear to us that something had to change. I was convinced by the Vesta system because you don't need an additional card or touches. With a system without cards, you don't have the extra hassle of retrieving lost cards.

It was important to us that the janitor not have to take on additional tasks with laundry room collections. And topping up credit must also work when the janitor is on vacation for two weeks.

With the cashless systems on the market, only solutions existed where you have to pay money into an account in advance by invoice. This means that if the account balance is not sufficient, the tenant can not wash and must wait 1-2 days. This would be a significant deterioration for the tenants compared to the situation with cash. That's why I was convinced that with Vesta, you can top up the balance directly online and thus continue washing without having to wait.

The Vesta system was only an announcement on ELEKTRON's website at the time and was still very new - but it was worth the wait.

What has improved for owners and management since implementation?

The risk with cash in the laundry room has been eliminated. There is no need to empty the coin machines and also no need to go to the bank with the coin.

What are the benefits of Vesta for the janitor?

Cleanliness in the laundry room has improved because tenants know that the Vesta system logs laundry room usage. There is the ability to find out the last user in case of complaints. And last but not least, I really appreciate that the cash registers no longer need to be emptied.
