In Steinhausen, the light only comes on when there is movement
In the course of renovating the lighting of various secondary roads, the municipality of Steinhausen decided, in addition to the use of efficient LED lights to minimize light pollution with an intelligent light control. Therefore, they use the motion-dependent light control Wattstopper on sidewalks and bike paths as well as neighborhood streets.
The Wattstopper motion sensor is a very easy to attach PIR sensor for luminaires with Zhaga interfaces. With a simple rotary movement, the sensor is attached directly to the lower interface of the TownTune luminaires used and works without a separate power supply.
The way the sensor works is very simple: when motion is detected, the luminaire is immediately dimmed up. After the sensor no longer detects movement, the light level slowly decreases again to a minimum. In this way, light pollution can be reduced quickly and easily on small side streets, neighborhood roads, and pedestrian and cycle paths, while at the same time reducing energy consumption.
