In the Jura, Eagle Eye ensures less light pollution

Light only when there is movement on the road.

Municipalities in the Jura region began looking for ways to reduce lighting several years ago in order to protect the environment. For example, BKW tested various motion-dependent lighting controls in pilot projects back in 2013. In the end, the Eagle Eye system was chosen.

"We chose Eagle Eye because the radar sensor technology offers many technical advantages and the sensors are easy to install. The municipalities were convinced that energy consumption and light pollution can be reduced while ensuring safety."
Joel Burkhalter, Head of Lighting BKW Jura

Motion-dependent lighting control with the Eagle Eye radar sensor is particularly suitable for roads with little traffic. The lighting switches on automatically as soon as movement is detected on the road. Safety on the roads is thus ensured at all times.

"Once the installation is completeELEKTRON programs the sensors remotely for us. Once the system is up and running, we only need to intervene with special customer requests."

Joel Burkhalter, Head of Lighting BKW Jura

The latest generation Eagle Eye Zhaga makes installation even easier. The sensor can be mounted directly on the Zhaga interface of the luminaire.

"The Zhaga standard allows us to easily expand luminaires with new hardware. This results in installation savings today and enables new applications in the future."

Joel Burkhalter, Head of Lighting BKW Jura

In the Jura region alone, more than 60 systems with over 1000 sensors are in operation.

Eagle Eye Zhaga could also be something for you if you:

  • want to save maximum energy on roads with little traffic
  • want to reduce light emissions, especially in eco-sensitive areas
  • do not want to compromise on safety
