Laser welding enables customized cooling solutions
The development of the innovative laser welding manufacturing process is fundamentally changing the design possibilities of heat sinks. The latest-generation process enables customization of the size, shape, and fin structure of heat sinks and cooling channels.
No dies are required as in extrusion, and the technical limitation imposed by the module ratio is eliminated. The technology is suitable for aluminum and copper alloys. In addition, a highly thermally conductive alloy or an alloy with physically stronger EN AW 6060 can be used. In addition to its great flexibility, the trend-setting thermal management also convinces with efficient heat transfer as well as savings in material, production time and product costs: maximum cooling performance at minimum cost.
