Luma luminaires illuminate the new Bütschwil bypass road

The Bütschwil bypass in the canton of St. Gallen will officially open to traffic on September 17, 2020. The project of the century is the result of years of extensive studies and clarifications in order to give the best possible consideration to the landscape, nature, bodies of water, the environment and the quality of life of local residents. In order to relieve the traffic situation in the town centers of Bütschwil and Dietfurt, the communities will now be bypassed on a 3.8km long road.

To ensure that the streets are illuminated in accordance with standards and that safety is guaranteed at all times, we planned the lighting infrastructure together with the Meyer engineering office in St. Gallen. When it came to selecting the luminaires, the decision was made in favor of the Luma family of luminaires, which has already proven itself on Swiss roads for over eight years and has been continuously developed. In addition, fitting candelabras as well as various special designs such as supporting structures or securing elements were supplied for optimal installation of the luminaires. The street lighting was implemented step by step and is now ready to bring light to the Bütschwil bypass even at night. As much as necessary, as little as possible.

The Luma gen2 was the first luminaire family to be available climate-neutral. This means that the climate-damaging emissions unavoidably caused during production and transport can already be compensated for at the time of purchase.
