Over 600 PV modules supply ELEKTRON and its tenants with solar power
Over 600 solar panels have been installed on ELEKTRON's rooftops in recent weeks and were put into operation today. In dazzling weather, the new PV system produces over 255 kWp. This corresponds to an average energy demand of around 25 single-family homes. The solar energy generated is used to power the ELEKTRON building, IT infrastructure, logistics and the electric mobility fleet.
In the future, an expansion of the PV system with battery storage is planned to maximize self-consumption. In addition, the storage solution ensures an uninterrupted emergency power supply for critical infrastructures in the event of power failures. In this way, the IT servers and the mobile communications antenna on the roof are securely supplied - even when the lights go out.
