Signify and ELEKTRON agree on distribution partnership in Austria
Vienna, Austria - Signify, world market leader for lighting, has agreed a partner deal with ELEKTRON AG for the distribution of municipal outdoor lighting1 in Austria. In the middle of the year, the company had already announced a reorientation of its sales in the Alpine republic, which will increasingly rely on cooperation with external partners. The cooperation with the leading Swiss technology company ELEKTRON will now put this focus into practice from next spring. A similar partnership between the two companies has already existed in Switzerland for many years.
"Our goal as a leading provider of professional lighting solutions is to reorganize our sales throughout the DACH region with an eye to the future. To this end, we also want to rely increasingly on partner business in the Austrian market." "We are very pleased to have found a perfect partner for this in ELEKTRON and to be able to build on the extremely successful cooperation in Switzerland."
Karsten Vierke, CEO Signify DACH
As the market leader in street lighting, the long-established Swiss company ELEKTRON AG has decades of experience in outdoor lighting. In addition to the issue of energy efficiency, lighting quality and light emissions play an important role in ELEKTRON's solutions. The company is also driving forward the digitalization of public infrastructures, assigning a central role to the street lighting network. For Enrico Baumann, CEO of ELEKTRON AG, the expansion of the collaboration means a great deal:
"We are pleased to soon be able to act as a partner for Signify in Austria as well. This is a confirmation that we are on the right track with our concept for Smart Street Lighting."
In order to implement the future partnership in Austria in a comprehensive and future-oriented manner, ELEKTRON intends to establish a new company. Signify's partnership with ELEKTRON will go beyond pure product sales. Together with the newly founded company, ELEKTRON will also take care of other aspects and services such as planning, commissioning and after-sales management for Austrian customers, as well as marketing the IoT solution Interact City (CityTouch) and providing service support for existing customers. The cooperation is scheduled to start in spring 2020.
1In addition to selling professional outdoor lighting, ELEKTRON will act as a value added partner for system integration of the Interact City IoT platform for networking smart lighting. ELEKTRON thus expands its value added partnership with Signify to the entire DACH region.
