More than light... Smart Suisse 2021

Once again, we were there when everything revolved around smart solutions at the Congress Center Basel: at the fourth Smart Suisse in Basel. More than light - at our booth we showed how the street lighting infrastructure can now be used even more efficiently, environmentally friendly and versatile thanks to the targeted use of technology.

This year's SmartSuisse was a class reunion that was long overdue. Exciting conversations & contacts caused a further advancement of the scene, which all pursue the same goal: "a smart and sustainable Switzerland.

It was great fun to finally be able to exchange ideas in person again with the key players in the Swiss smart city industry. Smart Suisse is an excellent networking platform.

Read in a nutshell--what "More than Light" is all about:

Fulfilling the original task of "providing light" even more efficiently and with fewer resources

Good lighting is and remains important even in times of digitalization. After all, it ensures safety and well-being in public spaces. Today, however, modern, networked LED luminaires can perform their task of "providing light" much more efficiently, conserving resources and meeting needs. With the introduction of LEDs, energy consumption has been reduced many times over. Lighting becomes even more efficient with the use of intelligent controls - to have only as much light at any given time as is necessary. At the same time, this reduces light pollution and avoids unnecessary stray light.

The issue of sustainability and the environment has also become much more important in the lighting industry. In addition to the many possibilities of using targeted warm light colors and accessories to reduce stray light (such as louvers) - we have gone one step further and launched the first CO2-netural street light at the beginning of 2021.

The light point as a carrier infrastructure for further smart applications

The already existing, area-wide infrastructure street lighting can be used today even more efficiently and targeted and additional added value can be generated. Thanks to the ideal conditions, light points today become carriers for LoRaWAN gateways, emergency call stations, or e-charging stations.
