The Wädenswil football pitches in a new light - energy savings of up to 60%

The lighting at FC Wädenswil's four football pitches - three in Beichlen and one in Schönegg - has been completely renewed. Although they emit the same amount of light as the previous models, the new LED spotlights save over 60% energy overall. In addition, the new lighting can be precisely controlled and ensures less light pollution.

Successful fun tournament to mark the inauguration of the new lighting system

The football match, which took place on a recent fall evening at Beichlen, ended 2:3. For once, however, the defeat did not hurt FC Wädenswil. The mixed team of seniors and veterans did not play against a league opponent, but against the team from ELEKTRON AG. The match celebrated the inauguration of the new sports pitch lighting, which was installed this year on the three pitches in Beichlen and the pitch in Schönegg. And these are undoubtedly a benefit for everyone involved.

Over 60% energy saved in the Beichlen

"The energy savings are enormous. Whereas the Beichlen previously required 100 kW to light the entire facility, it is now just 37 kW. That's 63% less."

Remo Conte, Project Manager ELEKTRON AG

Project manager Remo Conte played for FC Wädenswil himself for many years and is therefore particularly pleased that he and his team were able to implement the new lighting.

Lighting control for even less energy consumption

In addition, the Lunatone lighting control system was installed so that the FC can dim the lights when full power is not required - for example during training sessions. At the same time, the pitches can be switched on and off individually so that there is only light where it is needed.

Less light pollution thanks to targeted alignment

Another positive effect of the new lights: They can be aimed very specifically. This reduces light pollution around the sports pitches to a minimum.</p

This is particularly important at the Schönegg football pitch, as it is located in the middle of a residential area of Wädenswil. Thanks to the new lighting, local residents are no longer disturbed by night-time tournaments and training sessions.

I would like to take this opportunity to emphasize the good cooperation with ELEKTRON. We are delighted that we were able to successfully complete this project and would like to express our sincere thanks for the sponsorship. This has enabled us to take the first step towards improving the infrastructure for football in Wädenswil.

Christof Wolfer, Wädenswil City Councillor

Our electricity costs have been massive in recent years. The fact that these are now being reduced, but that we have such a powerful system at the same time, is great.
